KYLIE ZenThai Shiatsu Thursday 9.00am - 5.00pm
After working as a scientist in the sleep medicine and forensic science fields for 15 years, Kylie moved 2˝ years ago from Brisbane to a rural area of the Sunshine Coast. Hand in hand with the change of scenery, she was drawn by a long-standing passion for natural medicine and the healing arts, to study ZenThai Shiatsu with Gwyn Williams at Mt Ninderry Healing Centre.
ZenThai Shiatsu is a heart-delivered form of bodywork, which treats the body as more than just a mechanical device which needs ‘fixing’, but more as a gift to be honoured and respected. Integrating the ancient healing traditions of Shiatsu (acupuncture without needles) and Traditional Thai massage (deep stretching and releasing), with osteopathic techniques (mobilization of joints), yoga therapy and modern remedial massage, ZenThai Shiatsu brings deep and lasting structural and energetic change to the body.
A practitioner uses hands, elbows, thumbs, fingers, knees and feet in a quiet meditative state. Treatment is a whole body experience which allows deep relaxation, release of muscle tension, increased joint mobility and movement of stagnant blood and ‘ki’ (energy) around the body. The recipient wears light, loose-fitting clothing, with treatment taking place fully clothed on a mat or futon on the floor.
